What SOC 2 Compliance Says About AssetWorks

In today’s digital world, saying you’re secure isn’t enough. You need to prove it. That’s why we’re proud to share that AssetWorks has completed our second consecutive SOC 2 Type 2 certification, continuing a journey that began three years ago with our initial SOC 2 Type 1.

It’s a big deal—and here’s why it matters to you.

What is SOC 2 Type 2, and Why Should You Care?

SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) is a framework created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to assess how service providers manage customer data. It focuses on five key areas: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

SOC 2 Type 1 evaluates whether controls are in place at a specific point in time. Type 2 goes a step further, testing whether those controls are functioning effectively over time—usually over a 6 to 12-month period.

At AssetWorks, we started with a Type 1 certification to establish our foundation with the 3rd party vendor. Then we moved to Type 2 to demonstrate that our commitment to security isn’t just a one-time thing—it’s baked into how we operate, day in and day out.

How It Sets AssetWorks Apart

Anyone can say they take data security seriously. SOC 2 Type 2 is how we prove it.

Each year, an independent third party audits our systems, policies, and procedures—everything from user access controls to how we handle incidents and ensure system availability. Passing that audit two years in a row tells you a lot about our culture: we value transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We don’t just build software. We build trust into every layer of what we deliver.

What it Means for You

If you’re responsible for managing assets, data, or compliance, you know how critical system integrity is. With AssetWorks, you’re working with a partner that:

  • Operates within a verified security framework
  • Protects your data with controls tested over time
  • Prioritizes reliability so you can focus on your actual job—not putting out fires

Whether you’re preparing for your own audit or just want to know your data is in safe hands, SOC 2 Type 2 means we’ve done our homework—and keep doing it.
